Published on:

This paper takes a closer look at land transport in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) with emphasis on South Africa, as the largest contributor to emissions in the region, to explore the role of transport and the synergies that exist with the power sector in decarbonising the region. Comparative examples from Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Mozambique and Zambia are used to highlight key transitional risks and opportunities.
