Breakfast Meeting on Sustainable Supply Chains | 2015

As part of an alliance with the ASPEN Institute, the EMM Network co-organised a thematic breakfast with representatives of some of the most important companies in Mexico. The objective was to develop a space of trust facilitating the interaction between companies in order to share and discuss topics related to sustainable supply chains.

The event, which took place on the 29 April 2015 in Mexico City, was hosted by Banorte and attended by representatives of leading Mexican multinationals, such as Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Cemex, Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA) and Nestlé.

After a short presentation of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) and the EMM Network the working group elaborated on challenges and opportunities of value chain management for small businesses. The half-a-day event, which was organised in form of an informal dialogue, closed with a lively discussion on solutions for the integration of more sustainable supply chains.

As next steps the participants agreed on the sharing and documentation of challenges and best practices, and on the development of methodologies, standards and other tools that can be adapted and replicated by other companies.
