Think Week on Sustainable Infrastructure Development

This year’s EPF Think Week on November 02 – 06, 2015, in Beijing, focuses on ‘Sustainable Infrastructure Development – Challenges and Opportunities for Emerging Economies’. During two days of roundtable discussions issues such as incentivising investments, the role of the private sector for effective implementation, interregional corridors and quantifying sustainability will be addressed. The workshop draws on the topic’s importance in the light of the 2030 Agenda, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda and a new international Climate Action Framework to be signed at COP21 as well as ongoing discussions within the G20 on how to support the implementation and evaluation of sustainable infrastructure.

Policy experts, academics and business representatives will develop themes for continued joint research in order to put forward key messages and policy recommendations to international policy processes. Following the roundtable discussions participants will have the opportunity to visit some of the key policy institutions in Beijing.
